James Guglielmo fell in love with music at the age of 9 and the love affair has never ended. In fact, it gets stronger as the years go by: music is never boring! Never!
He can still remember feeling the beauty of hearing the Chopin "Nocturne in E Flat". What were those chords? What a beautiful melody! He had to know how all this was put together.
James studied composition with Vincent Persichetti and Joseph Castaldo. Classical piano with Clement Pertrillo for ten years and Jazz with Dennis Sandoli on the east coast. On the west coast he studied orchestration with Albert Harris and conducting with Frederich Zweig.
He was the pianist at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas and Music Director on various cruise ships as well as accompanist for numerous stars: including, Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey, Rita Moreno and Henry Mancini and many others.
